C++, like C before it, relies on you, the developer, to keep track of when your application allocates memory and when it should release it for reuse. In small applications this isn t difficult, but as your application grows in complexity, it gets more difficult. Errors where you allocate memory and don t free it cause memory leaks; on constrained devices such as mobile phones, that can mean the difference between running and crashing as your application runs out of memory.
